Warframe Getting New Open World, Cinematic Story Quest and More
It’s a great time to be a Warframe player. TennoCon, the annual conference dedicated to the game, took place a couple of days ago, and a bunch of new stuff was revealed. This includes a new open world map, a new cinematic storyline quest, a new season of battle pass stuffs, a prime frame and a bunch of technological upgrades. All of that for the low, low price of absolutely nothing.
The new map is probably the most exciting addition. It was revealed through a mysterious trailer titled “The Duviri Paradox”. Truth be told, the trailer doesn’t really reveal what it’s about, but it later turned out it’s a new open world area. The video features a weird black and white place, and a guy on a horse. There’s also another guy that gets a hint from his past self, then ends up on the horse himself. I’ve only played Warframe for a bit, but judging by the comments, not even long-time players know what to make of this.
The fancy quest I mentioned is called The New War, and it’s coming out during the holidays. There’s a trailer for that as well, and you can check it out here. Bunch of weird folks fighting, but it’s not the old war anymore. Oh no. It’s a new one.
They’ve also demoed the Empyrean, showing off the new rendering engine, the space combat and exploration, and much more. It’s a 40-odd minute video, so brew yourself a warm drink before pressing play.
Finally, some more immediate stuff. The new season’s battle pass has arrived. Nightwave Series 2 is live, and it has a trailer that shows off all the nice things you can earn by tirelessly playing the game. The exact details of the update are available on the forums.
