What is focus in HP Wizards Unite?

Focus is a resources that is used for one thing and one thing only. You’ll need it only during Fortress battles, when you want to cast strategic spells. They use focus as fuel, instead of spell energy. If you’re not familiar with them, they’re the four unique spells each profession has access to.

You won’t have access to all of them from the get-go. Instead, you’ll unlock them as you progress and level up your character. They can be cast before every battle in the Wizarding Challenges, and they will either debuff the enemy, buff your teammate, or do some damage. In order to use them, you’ll have to drag the icon from the bottom of the screen to the friend or foe you’d like to target.

Enemies that have a focus icon will replenish some of your team’s focus when you defeat them. If you rely on them a lot, you’ll want to keep a handful of Invigoration Potions. Brewing them takes a while, so make sure you’ve memorized the master notes for the brew.

Depending on which class you’ve picked, you might find focus to be either an essential resource or not really worth thinking about. If you’re playing with a team, you’ll have to keep an eye on it either way, since it’s the only thing that allows you to help your teammates.

Can you cast more than one strategic spell when soloing a wizarding challenge? I can’t seem to do it… I’m an Auror, and would like to use both confusion and weakness hexes. I can place either one, but when I try to add another, it replaces the first one and there’s no going back. I have 3 focus and the hexes say they require 1 focus. It just doesn’t seem to work.

I think as an individual you can only use 1 per enemy, but if you have team mates they can also add 1 per enemy (even if not fighting them), to a max of 5. I’m not 100% as I’ve only ever fought with 1 other person, but that seemed to be the case then…

When I put both on it looks like there’s only one but when I engage in combat both show up under the enemy. Sooo I always put on both!
