Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Beta Announced With a Trailer
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, the winter-themed expansion for the popular grind-a-thon, is set to be released on September 6th. However, if you’re a Playstation owner, you’ll have the opportunity to try it out before release, for the low price of nothing. All you have to do is take advantage of one of the two announced beta tests. Read on to see if you’re eligible for either, and take a look at the trailer detailing the whole thing.
The first beta is going to take place on the weekend of June 21st, and it’s going to allow only PS Plus subscribers in. The next one is slated for the weekend of June 28th, and it’ll be open to all PS4 owners. The best thing about it is that you don’t even have to have the base game installed. In fact, you don’t even have to own it.
The beta will offer both single and multiplayer content, but you’ll need the Plus subscription for the latter. You will have three hunts of varying difficulties to choose from. The easiest one will be going after a Great Jagras in the Ancient Forest. The other two are set in Hoarfrost Reach – experienced players will have the chance to hunt a Banbaro, while the most skilled can go after a Tigrex.
Some of the new features on show include the grappling hook that lets you limit the monster’s movement, a bunch of new combos and attacks for all the weapons, the ability to mount Tailriders and use them as a mode of transportation and a photo mode. When you complete each of the three hunts, you’ll get a commendation pack that you’ll be able to redeem in the full game once it’s out. Other than that, beta progress won’t be saved.
