Final Fantasy VII Remake Episodes Will Have Content of Full Games
The Final Fantasy VII Remake Twitter account has shed some interesting light on the game and its episodic nature. For one, they’ve revealed that the first episode is gonna take place in Midgar City, which, well, you probably could have guessed from all the promo material so far. Also, they’ve promised that each episode is gonna have the amount of content as an average Final Fantasy game.
So, the gaming public that’s been following the long (and somewhat troubled) development of the remake of Final Fantasy VII probably already know that the game is going to be in some kind of episodic format. It’s still not super clear how many episodes there will be and that kinda stuff, but, apparently, every episode is gonna be huge, content-wise. According to the official FF7 Remake Twitter page: “Each game in the project will have a volume of content comparable to a standalone Final Fantasy.” That’s… well, very ambitious, to say the least, innit?
Looking further at the Twitter thread, we can also learn that, while one team is putting the finishing touches on the first episode, people are already “continuing to plan and outline the overall volume of content for the second.” Of course, they expect the development of the next installment to go over more smoothly, now that they have it figured out while working on Episode 1. Oh, and we now know that the first episode is gonna take place in the grand city of Midgar. This is because “it best represents the world of VII as a location more than any other. Midgar is full of imagination with myriad influences and surprises around every corner.”
The Final Fantasy VII remake, or, at least, the first episode, is going to come out on March 3rd, 2020. At the moment, it seems like it’s only gonna launch on the PlayStation 4. Is it gonna release on some other platforms later on? I would imagine so, but can’t say for sure right now.
