Death Stranding Trailer Reveals November Release Date

I was looking forward to a more expansive look at Death Stranding. I was hoping that it would finally shed some light on what the hell is going on in the game, maybe even confirm some of my hunches. It did nothing of the sort. I now know less about Death Stranding than I ever have, but color me all kinds of intrigued. Not only that, but the video has me listening to Apocalyptica. after being clean for over a decade. Kojima, what have you done to me?

Let’s get serious now. The new Death Stranding trailer dropped yesterday, and it looks amazing, if as obtuse as ever. Most importantly, though, we finally know when the game is coming out: November 8th, 2019. We also got ample gameplay footage, which was nice to see. It’s mostly focused on exploration, including using a nifty ladder and climbing rope. However, we also got plenty of combat footage, which seems to be intentionally slow and clunky. Also, apparently, we’ll have access to a motorbike that looks straight out of Tron. So, I’d say we’re looking at a slower-paced game, where action is present, but kinda takes a back seat to atmosphere and exploration.

Then again, I’ve been wrong about everything else when it comes to Death Stranding, so who’s to say. Judging by my prediction skills so far, it’ll turn out to be a tournament fighter. Whatever it is, we’ll know for sure in early November. Until then, feast your eyes on the trailer below, if you haven’t already.
