Destiny 2 Season of Opulence Trailer Released

Season of Opulence, the new Destiny 2 season, is about to start in early June. It’s going to add a bunch of new stuff – a raid, new activities, new quests, and of course, new loot. Bungie have published a blog post in which they detail the new additions, as well as a video that shows off all the cool new things you’ll get to experience if you shell out the cash for the annual pass.

Destiny 2 Season of Opulence Trailer Released

Of course, there’s going to be some content that’s going to be freely available to all owners of the game, but that’s pretty basic stuff, and some of it is nothing more than a hook that’s supposed to reel you into buying the season pass. The only real meat here is the Solstice of Heroes, the seasonal event that takes place during the summer, which will come with a completely new armor set you’ll be able to earn.

The most important part is probably the new activity. It’s meant for 6 players, and it’s called the Menagerie. You’ll start off by getting a quest from Calus, in which you’ll create a Chalice of Opulence. This item will allow you to take on the new activity. When you complete it, you’ll get to choose which item you get by offering certain runes to the chalice. New bosses will be introduced to the Menagerie as time passes, ending with the heroic difficulty setting. This one won’t have matchmaking – you’ll have to gather a fire team by hand before you can tackle it.

Then there’s the new raid, called Crown of Sorrow. It’ll take place on the Leviathan, once again, but there’s no word on the specifics. The new season will also introduce treasure hunts, which will be specific weekly quests that reward you with new gear.
