Division 2 Pestilence Exotic LMG - How to Get
Pestilence is an exotic weapon in The Division 2. It’s a light machinegun with several unique traits, and it was added to the game along with world tier 5 and Tidal Basin. When you kill people with it, they’ll leave a toxic cloud behind. The cloud will damage everyone caught inside it and reduce their healing capabilities. It’s a pretty interesting weapon, and everyone’s been wondering how to obtain one since the update went live. We’ve been at it ourselves, which is why we’ve decided to write this Division 2 Pestilence exotic weapon guide, to help you find it.
How to get Pestilence LMG?
There are two ways to get Pestilence – depending on your preference, you could go the PvE or the PvP route. If you don’t mind grinding until your fingers turn blue, PvE is a good option. Pestilence is a potential boss drop from the Tidal Basin stronghold on challenging difficulty. Keep replaying that one and you’ll eventually get it.
If you enjoy the PvP and aren’t affraid of taking a risk, head into the occupied Dark Zone and look for any landmark missions. After you defeat a landmark boss, you’ll get the Pestilence as contaminated loot, which means you’ll also have to extract it safely.
Pestilence exotic weapon perks & traits
The first perk is called Plague of the Outcasts. It allows you to poison an enemy after shooting them 20 times. When the poisoned enemy dies, they’ll release a toxic cloud which hurts everyone caught in it. It also gives them the Pestilence debuff, which is the second perk of the weapon. It reduces the healing they receive by 50% for 10s, and makes them die instantly when they’re downed. The only way to get rid of it is to either die, or repair to full armor. Finally, there’s the Outcast Resilience, which is active when the weapon is holstered. It gives you 20% more armor for 5s whenever you’re debuffed by blindness, bleeding or burning.
There is a lot of misinformation in this article, that i want to correct for any following players. 1. The Pestilence CAN drop from ANY named Boss in ANY of the three Dark Zones (however, more people found it in the Occupied DZ). 2. You can indeed steal this weapon from others players, due to its contaminated status (You have to extract it, to ACTUALLY have it !!!!!) 3. THE DROP IS RNG BASED!!!!!!!! There is no way, to be sure, to get it…you have got to be lucky 😉 IF you want it for the PVP…dont do it, if you want it, as a collectible, or to deconstruct it, go ahead and may the RNGESUS be with U 🙂
