AC Odyssey Update 1.1.4 Brings New Game Plus, Better Accessibility
There’s a new update coming to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey later today, and it’s going to lay the ground work for Bloodline, the third episode in the Legacy of The First Blade DLC. Apart from that, it’s going to add some nifty new features and fix up a lot of bugs. It’s a pretty hefty patch, ranging from 4.5 to 5.5 GB, depending on the platform. Scroll down to see some of the most important changes it brings.
New game plus is being advertised as the biggest addition, so we’re going to start there. It’s the usual fare – start over after you’ve finished the game, keep your shiny things and get tougher enemies. You’ll need to complete the Family quest line in order to activate it, and you’ll carry over pretty much everything – from weapons and armor, to mounts, abilities, money and crafting materials.
What’s actually most important here are the accessibility features. These will allow you to change the subtitle size, and add a background to the dialogues and subtitles. This feature was sorely missing in both this and the previous games, and made them pretty uncomfortable to play on a TV for anyone but the most eagle eyed players. So kudos to Ubisoft for actually thinking about how their players experience the games they make.
Other changes include scalable lieutenant perks for Ubisoft club characters, harder arena fights in hard mode, new ship tiers, mastery levels and twenty two new fast travel points. There’s also two more mercenary tiers with appropriate rewards, a new level cap (99) and whole bunch of small tweaks, balance changes and bug fixes. If you’re interested in checking out the full list, you can do so at the official site. It’s pretty extensive, I’ll tell you that much for free.
