Red Dead Redemption 2 Kill or Spare O'Driscoll in Barn
Kill or spare O’Driscoll in barn is the first moral dilemma you’ll face in Red Dead Redemption 2. It will happen during chapter one, where one of the O’Driscoll boys sneaks into your barn and attacks you when you go check out the noise he made. After you’ve subdued and interrogated him, you’ll get to choose whether to choke or let him go. Our Red Dead Redemption 2 kill or spare first O’Driscoll guide will show you what happens depending on what you choose.
How to deal with the O’Driscoll?
After you’re done interrogating him – which ammounts to little more than slapping him around and asking questions – Dutch will tell you he doesn’t care how you deal with the situation. As he leaves for the house, you’ll get the option to murder the O’Driscoll or let him leave. Dutch obviously won’t protest either way, so it’s all up to you.
The immediate effect is pretty much the same. If you decide to kill him, Arthur will choke him and leave him in the barn. If you let him go, he’ll run away. Keep in mind it’s really cold outside, and he doesn’t look like he’s dressed for the weather. Arthur even mentiones as much when talking to Dutch afterwards, saying he doesn’t think the guy stands much of a chance. For all intents and purposes, he ends up dead either way.
However, it might make a difference somewhere down the line. Someone of your gang members might treat you differently based on what you chose. The O’Driscolls might have a slightly different attitude towards you as well. It’s to early to tell. We’ll keep an eye out and update the guide if we discover any far-reaching consequences to this choice. If you notice some differences yourself, feel free to let us know in the comments.
If you end up getting stuck at another point, you might want to check out some of the other guides we have. We've written about mysteries like the missing person Gavin, the Rhodes Gunsmith prisoner, the locked door at Valentine doctor. We also have instructional guides that show how to rob stores without getting bounty or where to sell jewelry and gold bars. If it's collectibles or key items you're after, we've found all the Penny Dreadful comic books, Chick's treasure map location, or that famous pipe for Dutch. Finally, if you don't care to explore the map yourself, you could take a look at our Watson's Cabin and Catfish Jackson's Homestead locations guides. In the latest Red Dead Online Moonshiners Update you'll have a chance to find Navy Revolver and Best Shack Locations.
if u beat red dead 2 do u still get to explore more after hope its not silly question
After you complete the main story, you can still explore each part of the map without any limitations.
i ran into something interesting I beat the guy in the beginning. Now where I am Arthur has TB he mentioned he got it from beating a guy for no reason
Yea he got the TB from beating a guy when he was collect money for Heir Strauss. When you first get to valentine you get in a fight and thrown out a window.. the guy that breaks up the fight you end up collecting money from him. When you hit him he coughs on you, the wife and son run out and the wife says my husband is not well. Anyway that’s how Arthur got TB.
I just started replaying the story. I haven’t done that mission for Strauss yet, but I’ve noticed Arthur already has a cough.
It doesn’t happen as often as it does at the end, and it isn’t as bad, but it’s there.
When you first advance on the o’Driscoll camp, I had one of the the men who looks like the guy you let go say “Should have killed me when you had the chance!” Nothing more of significance yet.
If your using Elite controller turn off the trigger locks. I thought the game was broken. You have to hold in left trigger for a lot of things to work in the game.
It won’t even let me interrogate him I hold L1 and nothing fucking happens
Let go of L1 then it will appear.
What buttons to you use to interrogate?
