Red Dead Redemption 2 How to Revive Your Horse - Horse Reviver Locations
How to revive your horse in RDR 2 is a pretty important question to answer. Red Dead Redemption Horse Revivers are an essential consumable, because your horse is a huge part of the gameplay. Considering that bonding with your horse is fairly integral to the game, you truly don’t want your horse to die. This being the case, our Red Dead Redemption 2 How to Revive Your Horse guide will show you how to bring your horse back to life using Horse Revivers, and how to obtain the consumable.
How to Revive Horses in RDR2?
To revive horses in Red Dead Redemption 2, you need the right kind of consumable. Specifically, you want to have a Horse Reviver on hand. They don’t cost too much, somewhere to the tune of ten dollars, and you should always have at least one in your inventory. Having your horse die on you doesn’t really impact your gameplay too badly, but it’s still a huge pain in the blubber. This goes over double for when you already have a strong bond with your horse; you don’t want all of that time and work to go up in smoke.
If your enemies, be it wild animals, bounty hunters, or what have you, manages to down your horse, it’s best you act fast. Use the Horse Reviver on your horse as soon as possible. Approach your horse and hold Triangle on PS4 or Y if you’re on Xbox. This is why you always want to have a bare minimum of one RDR 2 Horse Reviver in your inventory at absolutely all times. The thing to remember is that RDR 2 has emergent gameplay, meaning stuff can just happen out of the blue, contextually. This means you can never be too certain that your safe. You can have up to 99 Revivers in your inventory, so you really have no excuse to not have a couple on you.
Where to Find RDR 2 Horse Reviver Locations & How to Get Them?
To find and get Horse Revivers in Red Dead Redemption 2, you fortunately don’t have to go too out of your way. In fact, you can purchase Horse Revivers in any stable or general store in major towns that you come across. AS we’ve mentioned above, one will cost you around $10 ($9.50, to be exact). You can ostensibly find Horse Revivers while out in the wilderness; say, while raiding a rival gang hideout. However, the stables and general stores are likely going to be your most reliable source of Horse Revivers. In general stores, you have to go under the Horse Care tab in the catalog.
To find stables more easily, you can hit X on Xbox or Square on PlayStation on the World Map screen to bring up the list of stables by scrolling down to the appropriate icon. All you have to do from there is flip through the list (left or right on the D-pad) and find which one is the most convenient for you to get RDR 2 Horse Revivers at.

Oh man, I learned this the hard hard way yesterday when my super fast horse and I accidentally hit a train. She was SO fast that I just couldn’t stop in time. OK, so maybe I waaas was text-riding… ๐ I ended up taming a wild horse the game immediately put in front of me and she’s awesome, but not as fast and we still have a lot of time to go with the bonding and development part. Dang. Lesson learned.
