Vampyr Patch Introducing New Difficulty Modes Drops September 26th
Vampyr is getting a patch which will introduce two new difficulty modes to the game. The patch will launch on September 26th. The two new difficulty modes are going to be polar opposites, Story Mode and Hard Mode. The former focuses more on the narrative, while the latter is much more combat-heavy, among other things.
A new patch for Vampyr is coming on September 26th, and it’s going to introduce two new difficulty modes. The first one is Hard Mode, which, really, should be self-explanatory. According to a post on Steam: “Hard Mode makes combat much more difficult. Players will receive less experience from killing enemies too, forcing them to rely even more on embracing citizens to grow in power.”
The second mode, Story Mode, is the complete opposite of Hard Mode. It’s for the people that want to experience the game in a more leisurely manner. As the same post reads: “Story Mode de-emphasizes combat, placing a greater focus on narrative so players can enjoy Dr. Jonathan Reid’s journey with less challenging gameplay.” So, yeah, it’s as simple as that. Of course, Normal mode is still an option. You’ll get to choose between the different difficulty modes when you start up a new game.
For those of you that missed the boat, Vampyr is an action RPG by DONTNOD Entertainment. Any of you that might have played Vampire: The Masquerade way back in the day, you’ll feel right at home in Vampyr, even though the setting is completely different. The game takes place in London around World War I, with a horrible epidemic ravaging the city. You play as a doctor that has recently been turned into a vampire. From there, you have to balance out saving lives and indulging your blood lust. It’s a cool concept overall, and the game is worth a gander.
