How to Play With Friends - CoD Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta
Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is having a private beta for everyone who’s preordered, and the menu consists solely of the Blackout mode. It’s their version of the popular battle royale mode. You can play it by yourself, against hordes of strangers, but you also jump in in teams of two or four. Some players are having trouble connecting with their friends, which is why we’ve written this Cod Black Ops 4 how to play with friends guide.
How to invite friends
If you want to play with friends and acquaintances, you’ll first have to make sure you haven’t selected the solo mode. Choose duos or quads, depending on how many people you want to team up with – the former is for two players squads, the latter supports four. Once you’ve done this, press Triangle to open up the social menu / friends list.
Now all you have to do is find the people you were intent on inviting, select them, press X and choose the Invite To Party option. They’ll have to accept, of course, but that’s pretty much it. You can also play duos and quads with random people from the internet – just make sure you turn on the fill squad option.
If our experience with Fortnite is anything to go by, it’s definitely way more fun to play with people you know. If you’re playing with random folks, make sure at least half of the team has microphones – communication is key in battle royale games.
If you’re having trouble getting into the beta, we’ve written about redeeming your beta token already. We also have a guide with all the most common Black Ops 4 errors and problems, if you experience any technical difficulties, bugs or server issues. The beta is going to last a couple of days, and we’ll be updating the guides as necessary.
