Malfeasance Exotic Weapon - How to Get in Destiny 2 Forsaken

Malfeasance is an exotic weapon in Destiny 2. It’s a kinetic hand cannon that was added in the Forsaken expansion. It looks quite disconcerting, and it does bonus damage to Taken and invaders in Gambit. Getting it might be a bit of a chore, though, especially since it’s such a situational weapon. This guide will show you everything you need to know about Destiny 2 Malfeasance, how to get it and what it does.

How to get Malfeasance?

If you’re attracted to the unusual curves and slits of the new exotic hand cannon, you’ll have to spend some time in the coal mines. First off, you’ll need to play a bunch of Gambit. There’s a drop called Seething Heart that you’ll need from there. It drops from a boss called Ascendant Primeval Servitor. It’s a corrupted servitor, with actual flesh on it and some tentacles for good measure. There’s no way to force it to spawn, so you’ll just have to wait for it to appear.

Once you have the Seething Heart, go talk to the Drifter. He’ll give you the City of Secrets quest item, which requires you to kill 25 Taken bosses (or mini-bosses). High value targets don’t count towards the total – only proper bosses and mini-bosses. You could either do a whole lot of Blind Well, or focus on lost sectors like Aphelion’s Rest.

Once you’re done with that, you’ll have to complete a modified version of the Corrupted strike – the one in Dreaming City. Since the recommended power level is 580, you’ll definitely have to go in with a team. When you’ve completed the mission, go back to the Drifter again.

The next part is pretty tricky – you’ll have to win 10 Gambit matches and deposit 500 motes od dark in total. As the item description says, dropped motes decrease your counter twice as fast as deposited ones increase it, so be careful. You’ll be sick to death of Gambit by now, but the next step is also tied to it. You will need to kill 25 guardians, as well as get 4 kills during a single invasion. If you’re not comfortable with PvP, you can have a friend do it for you – but they’ll have to do it three times. Afterwards, go talk to Drifter and you’ll get your pistol.

Malfeasance stats & perks

Malfeasance’s main selling point is the increased damage it does to Taken enemies and Gambit invaders. This means you won’t have much use for it outside the stuff Forsaken brought. The Dreaming City is the biggest Taken colony you’ll find in the game, a Gambit is the only place where both of these bonuses will come in useful.

Its intrinsic perk is called Explosive Shadow, and it makes every fifth bullet you fire into the same enemy cause an explosion that does AoE damage. This is pretty cool, but it won’t get triggered on enemies with tiny health bars, since you won’t have the opportunity to shoot them five times before they’re dead. The damage output is not impressive when not fighting Taken, so you’re probably better off with something else.

take a look at the triumph entries, there is a challenge for beating the malfeasance boss. I would imagine that you get the exotic from that.RNG or as a reward for getting the killshot? Nobody knows yet…

You actually have to reset your gambit rank twice to unlock the quest steps for getting it.

Sorry but i do not believe that. Since in collections Malfeasance is locked, this means it is behind a quest line. And since people have already reset their infamy ranks up to 4 times and still do not have any quest or any new step, then it is time gated and they will release it once they want to.
So far there is no clue what to do.
