Pillars of Eternity 2 Beast of Winter DLC Release Date Revealed

It’s time for you to set sail in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire to new shores. Obsidian has released a very short teaser for the upcoming, big expansion DLC for the game, Beast of Winter. The video reveals very little of the future content, but it does reveal the release date of the DLC. As it turns out, the Beast of Winter DLC is coming out on Thursday, August 2nd. The teaser trailer also briefly show us an imposing ice minotaur, and a large portal in a frozen cave, leading God knows where. The voiceover introduces the creature’s home as the “gaping maw of Entropy, a hunger that cannot be sated,” which is both really metal and incredibly cheesy. I love it.

The Beast of Winter DLC is one of three expansions that are in the pipeline for Pillars of Eternity 2. The second one, “Seeker, Slayer, Survivor,” has a September release window, while the third one, “The Forgotten Sanctum”, should come out in November. You can buy all of those expansions for $10 a piece, or you can purchase the season pass to get all three DLCs for $25. The idea is that every one of the expansions is going to add a whole new island area for you to set sail to and explore. This will include a whole new story, secrets, NPCs, lore, and much more. So, get ready to battle a doomsday cult worshiping an ancient, evil deity in Beast of Winter just a few weeks from now.
