Oh, the times, they are a-changing. After so many years, Call of Duty will completely drop the single player campaign. At least, as far as this entry, Black Ops 4, goes. If we’re being completely honest, it’s not like the developers of Call of Duty have been paying too much attention to the single player in the recent years, anyway. Considering that it has turned into a vestigial appendage, I guess cutting it off completely isn’t that surprising. Whether or not people like that is a completely different story.

Instead, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is going to focus on the multiplayer side of things. It will feature the usual multiplayer, the obligatory zombie mode, and of course, the Battle Royale mode, called Blackout. Of course the new Call of Duty is going to chase the trend here, and try to execute its own version of the popular and highly-lucrative new fad. Considering how tough the competition there is in the new genre, they’re really have to knock it out of the park. Apparently, Blackout mode is going to feature the biggest map in the entire series, so that’s a start.

As for the Zombie Mode, it’s going to have three maps, with four new characters to play as: Shaw, Diego, Bruno, and Charlotte. The game will come out with one Zombie map. The second one, named Voyage of Despair which takes place on the Titanic, will come out after the game launches on October 12th. The third one, Blood of the Dead, is going to arrive later still. Oh, one last detail: on PC, the game will be available via Battle.net.
