Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2018 Trailer Hidden Message Contains Short FAQ
The new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 is out, revealed during E3 2018. It has everything that a cyberpunk fan wants: a glitzy, yet rotten megalopolis, killer robots, cyborgs, assassins, the works. However, the developers have sneaked in a hidden message into the trailer, which also contains a short FAQ about the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is back in the gaming public eye after the amazing new trailer that they showed during this year’s E3. As a fan of both cyberpunk as a setting and the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop RPG, I can’t get enough of the video. However, CD Projekt Red also sneaked in a little hidden message, as pointed out by IGN and others. The beginning is just them recapping how the development process was going, and why they stayed silent all this time until now. Then, the message goes into a brief FAQ, cluing us in on some details about Cyberpunk 2077.
So, what exactly do we have of substance in the hidden message’s FAQ? Well, first off, they tell us when the game will come out: when it’s ready. Yes, that’s not at all helpful, but does it ever work well as a hype-starter. The post does say: “We’re definitely much, much closer to a release date than we were back then… but it’s still not the time to confirm anything, so patience is still required.” Not much to go by, but definitely enough to get excited. Then, there’s the question of how big the game will be. The FAQ states that even the developers don’t know yet for sure how big the game will be, but they will let gamers now ahead of pre-orders going up.
Next question: What about free DLC, DRM, and expansions? The text is pretty conclusive: “Expect nothing less than you got with The Witcher 3. As for DRM, CP2077 will be 100% DRM free on PC.” And, lastly, the question of microtransations. Well, CDPR couldn’t be more straightforward, or cheeky about it: “Microtransactions? In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?” So, those are the things important to take away from this hidden FAQ. We’ll keep you posted on further details as they come. Meanwhile, check out the E3 2018 trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 if you haven’t already.
