God of War Raging Inferno of Muspelheim – How to Get Last Chaos Flame

How to get Raging Inferno of Muspelheim

As you can probably tell from the name, the item comes from Muspelheim, the realm of fire. If you’ve visited the land of fire and brimstone, you’ve noticed it’s made up of a series of challenges. The final challenge involves defeating Gondul, one of the Valkyrie bosses. Once you’ve dealt with her, she’ll drop a bunch of items. One of them will be the Raging Inferno of Muspelheim. You won’t be able to trade it in until you’ve beaten the main story, so just hold onto it.

It may sound simple, but completing the challenges is no easy feat. You’ll face strong enemies, time constraints, and more. You’ll have to prepare by equipping the best possible armor, runic attacks, enchantments and talismans you have. For instance, here’s an enchantment that gives you 5% resistance to Valkyrie attacks, and you can stack up to three of them. It would also be prudent to upgrade the Leviathan Axe as much as you can – a lot of the enemies there are vulnerable to frost attacks. Getting the Blades of Chaos buffed isn’t necessary, but it won’t hurt.

Once you get to the boss, it’s all a matter of learning the patterns. Make good use of Atreus’ abilities, and don’t be greedy. Dodge and block vigilantly, then sneak in a swing or two when the opportunity presents itself.

In this article you meantioned (or referred to) the enchantment “Valkyrie’s Bane.” Which gives the player 5% damage reduction against Valkyrie’s. You said that we could stack three of them. I can not figure out how to get more than one. If you know how to get more, please, advice me how. Thank you

If you didn’t pick up the item after defeating the Valkyrie, go to the store and check the lost item tab, should be there.

I beat the Valkyries, including The queen and the game and I cannot get the raging inferno of muspelheim. Any chance the when I beat the valkyrie in muspelheim she didn’t drop it?

  4. Beat the Valkyrie on Muspelheim. After you pick up the dropped items, do to the shop. Checkout the resources and chaos flame should be available for purchase immediately regardless of game status. After the purchase, go to upgrades and power up the Blades of Chaos.

The thing about not being able to trade it on until after you finish the main story line is not true, I just completed the second (and harder) set of trials and after that you get crest of surtr, once you have that you can go to brok or Sindri and have them upgrade the blades for you. I haven’t beaten the game yet and I have a set of fully upgraded Blades of Chaos

Great info! I managed to get the item but how do I use it to upgrade? I’ve read you have to beat the game then trade it in, is that the case?

I am having the same issue. When I conquered Muspelheim before finishing the story, the raging inferno resource popped out. However, shops are not giving me the option to trade.

You trade them in the buy->resource to get the stuff you need to upgrade your weapons.

It’s used as currency to buy the chaos flame. Go to the resources tab at the smith to buy it.

Yes. That is correct. You cannot trade in the Raging Inferno of Muspelheim for the Chaos Flame, until you have completed the main storyline. This also applies to acquiring the last Frozen Flame for the Laviathan Axe as well.

That’s false. I just unlocked the fire place, no where near the end of the game; and I was able to trade it in.

You just have to go to the resources tab and go to chaos flame.

I was able to purchase the upgrades fully before entering Jotunheim. I am not sure why so many are not able to access the upgrades until after finishing the game. Note: I HAD gotten myself to level 8 in order to try tackling the Valkyries, so it COULD be related to current level?
