Far Cry 5 Hard Fishing Spot Locations – How to Beat Region Records

In order to beat the region records, you’ll have to visit that region’s headquarters (Fall’s End, Wolf’s Den or Hope County Jail) and check out the fisherman’s noticeboard. The notice boards will list the current records for the area. The left column is the same in all three areas, but you only need to catch each fish from it once.

Where to find hard fishing spots?

Both the Pallid Sturgeon and the Paddlefish Sturgeon can be found in the river in the far southwestern corner of the map, in John’s Region. Just follow the river south of the Lamb of God Church, and you’ll find the former soon enough. The latter is a bit further downstream, past the airstrip.

If you straddle the border between Holland Valley and Henbane River, you can get the Rainbow Trout (at the Bridge of Tears, east of Rae-Rae’s Pumpkin Farm), as well as the Bull Trout (at the wide bend farther south).

Head east into Faith’s region, and you can get the Rock Bass from the river that passes by Hope County Jail. The fishing spot is a few bends before the prison. Going farther east, all the way to the edge of the map, will allow you to catch the Smallmouth Bass – it’s directly east of the Moonflower Trailer Park. Head north up the river, and you’ll soon run into a spot with Largemouth Bass, too.

If you go into the Whitetail Mountains, start your journey from the east. There’s a spot right in front of Fort Drubman where you can catch Golden Trout. If you go into the small bay north of the fort, you can catch Lake Trout. Follow the river as it bends west, and you’ll find a spot with Chinook Salmon north of the FANG Center.

The mountains are home to the last two fish, as well. The Kokanee Salmon can be found in the large lake to the west of FANG Center. If you head south along the western edge of the map, you’ll discover a somewhat hidden lake, which is home to the Arctic Grayling Salmon.

Kokanees can also be caught by the boatload near the Silver Lake parking lot.

But to unlock the trophy and the last fishing rod, you must catch the 6 lbs Kokanees in Jacob’s region.

It would be nice if there was a picture of each fishing board with the names of the fish next to the fish. Thanks for your work!

The hard largemouth is a bit south, right where the rivers meet near Whistling Beaver Brewery.

Yeah, the spot listed is not the Largemouth Bass (Hard) spot. The real spot is directly south on the northern tip of where the rivers connect. NE of the whistling beaver brewery by 141 m.

    Hi, nice explanations, thanks.
How do you notice if you beat a record on the board ?

Once you’ve beaten a record, you’ll find a blue ribbon on the board, on top of the picture of the fish in question.

Are you sure you were fishing at the hard fishing location?

It might be the lake trout.

It’s not lake trout they weigh in at around 30lbs so it’s not Bull Trout which means it’s Chinook Salmon.
