They Are Billions Units List, Stats, Abilities & How to Use Them

Ranger Unit – They Are Billions

The Ranger is the cheapest unit in They Are Billions, and therefore extremely important in the early game. They have several crucial roles. Their main thing is, of course, scouting. You need them to uncover the map to figure out the layout, locations of resources and zombies, and so on. The second important role is defense. In the early game, Rangers will be instrumental to protecting your fledgling colony. Later on in the game, you’ll have to start developing stronger units. Early on, though, they can face off the weaker zombies pretty damned well. Rangers use bows and arrows, so they’re pretty quite, and can clear out some of the smaller groups of zombies. Once you have some solid defenses set up, you can even use Rangers to lure enemies into traps. That’s kinda dicey, though, so exercise caution. In short, Ranger roles in They Are Billions is scouting, defense, and clearing out zombies early on.

You build and train Rangers in the Soldiers Center. They cost 120 gold each, plus you need one worker and two wood. Each of them requires additional one gold for maintenance. You can later upgrade the base Ranger to the Veteran version. Below are the Ranger stats in They Are Billions.

  • Health: 60
  • Armor: 1
  • Movement Speed: 4
  • Attack Range: 6
  • Attack Damage: 10 (12 for Veteran)
  • Attack Speed: 1 (2 for Veteran)
  • Watch Range: 8
  • Noise Activity: 1

They Are Billions Soldier – How They Work?

Soldiers are more serious damage dealers than the scouts. They have both more health and armor, and deal more damage. They can get rid of small bunches of zombies very easily. They are a very solid defense in the early game, and still relatively good in the mid game, since they can down Harpies as well with their machine guns. Later though, you’ll have to upgrade your fire power. You can use the soldiers to clear out the map of stray groups of enemies. However, their rifles make a bunch of noise, so if you approach a Village of Doom, you’ll be in trouble really quickly, so be very careful. Soldiers work best as defense, it seems. That depends on your overall strategy and the map layout, of course.

Like the Ranger, Soldiers get made in the Soldiers Center. Each one costs 240 Gold, plus 1 food, 1 worker, and two iron, and 3 gold to maintain. Also, just like the Ranger, you can upgrade your basic Soldiers to Veterans. Here are the stats:

  • Health: 120
  • Armor: 3
  • Movement Speed: 2.4
  • Attack Range: 5
  • Attack Damage: 15 (24 for Veteran)
  • Attack Speed: 2 (2.5 for Veteran)
  • Watch Range: 6
  • Noise Activity: 3

Snipers in They Are Billions

Snipers are slow, but have some solid health and armor. They need time to reload, but by god, do they make up for it with the punch they pack. They are a purely defensive unit, since the zombies can corner or surround them pretty easily, so they ought to have some defense between them and the hordes, unless you have large numbers of them. That being said, they can take care of some of the more durable zombies. Those that they don’t kill get knocked back, even the Chubby ones. That will slow them down, allowing you valuable time to breathe.

Continuing the trend of the Ranger and Soldier, you get Snipers from the Soldiers Center, and they can be upgraded to the Veteran version. However, unlike the previous two units, the Sniper also requires 700 gold worth of research in the Wood Workshop. How much do they cost to build? 300 gold, 1 food, 1 worker, 2 iron, and 2 wood. If you want them to stick around, you’ll need to set aside 5 gold to maintain them. Let’s go over the stats now.

  • Health: 150
  • Armor: 2
  • Movement Speed: 1.8
  • Attack Range: 8
  • Attack Damage: 100 (110 for Veteran)
  • Attack Speed: 0.45 (0.91 for Veteran)
  • Watch Range: 9
  • Noise Activity: 10

Lucifer Units Cost, Stats, and Use

Lucifer is a bit of a toss-up. They are slow but durable, and recover health very quickly. They can deal sustained cone-shaped damage from their flamethrower, so a group of them can clear out Doom Villages with great ease. They can’t shoot over walls, which makes them pretty inefficient in defending fortified places. On the other hand, if you have some buildings that aren’t fortified, they can be pretty efficient there. That being said, they have plenty of setbacks. They can damage friendly units, their range is fairly small, so some of the infected can rush them easily if you don’t have enough Lucifer units. Plus, they’re very expensive, and there are better units that you could be buying. In short, they’re not really worth it.

Lucifers, like the following two units, come from the Engineering Center. They don’t require any extra research. That being said, here’s the cost: 600 gold, 2 food, 1 worker, and, for the first time, 10 oil. Maintenance requires 12 gold and 1 oil. And now for the stats.

  • Health: 400
  • Armor: 3
  • Movement Speed: 1.8
  • Attack Range: 3.5
  • Attack Damage: 20
  • Attack Speed: 2
  • Watch Range: 6
  • Noise Activity: 10

They Are Billions Unit List – Thanatos

The Thanatos are powerful units that carry rocket launchers. They are kinda slow, but they hit like a rhino. They’re an all-around good unit. The rockets they fire do AOE damage, so they can nick at units that they don’t hit directly. Those that get hit with the rocket directly are in a lot of trouble. Like the Sniper, if they don’t kill the target outright, they can knock them back and slow them down. Thanatos can fire over walls, so they’re good for defense. They can also do a good job on the offense, especially when it comes to leveling Villages of Doom and large groups of the infected. They do attract a lot of attention, because rockets are really loud, but they can take a beating. Plus, they have a decent melee attack to fend of the zombies that come close. That being said, they aren’t very effective in close quarters, but that probably won’t matter much. They are definitely the better option than the Lucifer unit.

Thanatos units are produced in the Engineering center, but they require hefty funds to research in the Foundry. 2000 gold worth of research, to be exact. Additionally, they’re pretty expensive to train (or build, if you will), but they do make up for it with their solid versatility. Each one costs 600 gold, 1 worker, 2 food, 10 oil, and 10 iron. The cost of maintenance is 1 oil and 12 gold. These are their stats:

  • Health: 250
  • Armor: 4
  • Movement Speed: 1.8
  • Attack Range: 10 Ranged (3 Minimum), 1.5 Melee
  • Attack Damage: 70
  • Attack Speed: 0.3 Ranged, 1 Melee
  • Watch Range: 12
  • Noise Activity: 500 Ranged, 3 Melee

Titan – They Are Billions Best Unit

The Titan is the end-all unit in They Are Billions. They have the best DPS, they can take a lot of punishment, they’re very fast for their size. They can be used both defensively and offensively. You can even put them into a hole in your fortifications to prevent an onslaught. They (and their twin rapid-fire cannons) are effective against Swarms, go toe-to-toe with pretty much any enemy, clear out Doom Villages, whatever you want. While the Thanatos are pretty efficient, nothing at all can bear the Titan. You can use them in any way you can think of. They are arguably the best investment of resources.

Speaking of resources, the one downside of the Titan is that they cost a ton to research, build, and maintain. Before you can even think of building these units, you’ll have to invest 6000 gold of research at the Foundry. Then, you’ll have to shell out 2000 gold, 20 oil, 40 iron, 1 worker, and 2 food to produce one. As for upkeep, you’re going to need 2 oil and 40 gold. Yes, it’s a lot, but look at them stats, tho:

  • Health: 600
  • Armor: 5
  • Movement Speed: 3
  • Attack Range: 9
  • Attack Damage: 20
  • Attack Speed: 5
