Endless Space 2 Vaulters Expansion Announced, Free Add-On Available

Sega has announced the first new expansion DLC for Endless Space 2. It’s called The Vaulters, and it’ll introduce them as a whole new playable civilization. They’ll have their own special abilities, buildings, heroes, and main quest. The Vaulters expansion launches on January 25th, but it’s up for preorders already. Also, there’s a free add-on for the game out now, with a lot of new content.

Fans of the Endless games have a bit of a reason to celebrate, I’d say. The developers have announced that they’re releasing the first expansion for Endless Space 2, The Vaulters. It’s coming out on January 25th. The Vaulters will be a whole new civilization for you to play as, with abilities such as teleportation and the use of the Argosy, their colonizer ship that you can see in the trailer below. Of course, they’ll also have heroes (Opbot included), buildings, a starting special node, and even a minor civilization called Sisters of Mercy, as well as a whole new main quest. On top of that, the DLC will also include exotic combat, allowing you to board and take over ships, and even Pirate Diplomacy to negotiate with the leader. If this tickles your fancy, you can already preorder the Vaulters DLC on Steam for $9.89, which is a 10% markdown from the full $10.99 price.

In other Endless Space 2 news, there’s a new free add-on for the game out in the wild. This is the result of the “Play to Win” community challenge which took place during the free weekend event back in November. Basically, the developers have set stretch goals for the players, and they have unlocked all of them. You can now pick up the add-on on the GAMES2GETHER platform, and enjoy all of the extra content it comes with. Here’s what you’ll get:

• New planetary anomaly: the “High Energy Plasmasphere”.
• New galaxy type: the 6-branches spiral.
• New event: handle a new immigration crisis. Do you have what it takes to save the Remnant refugees?
• New ship modules: the powerful Swarm Missiles, Railguns and Energy Squadrons!
