God of War Release Date To Be Announced Soon, Says Sony Producer

The launch date of the new God of War is coming closer, even if we don’t know exactly when it’ll come out. However, hopefully, it seems that we won’t have to wait too long before we find out the exact release date. At least, according to Chris Ashimine, the Japan and Asia Localization Producer at Sony Interactive Entertainment. In a recent New Year group interview for Weekly Famitsu (via Dual Shockers), he was discussing the localization for the Japanese market. He, of course, promised high-quality localization, but that’s not the part that piques the interest. No, it’s the part where Ashimine said that he believes that the launch date announcement will happen soon. That, of course, is pretty obtuse, which is to be expected. Still, though, we can hope!

All that said, though, the only thing we know for certain so far is that God of War is coming out in early 2018. However, the words of Chris Ashimine are worth mentioning regardless. As we’ve pointed out before, the PlayStation Store might have accidentally leaked the release date of God of War some weeks back. If that info turns out to be correct, the game will come out on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018. So, Ashimine saying that the launch date will be announced soon at the beginning of January might just confirm the late-March release date. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Either way, I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the game. Kratos battling monsters and gods from Nordic mythology? Yes, please!
