Star Wars Battlefront 2 Getting The Last Jedi Content in New Update
Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been updated with content tied to The Last Jedi movie. There are new heroes, maps and vehicles to try out, and EA promises it won’t spoil the movie’s plot for you. The update is available now “free* for all players”, although we’re not sure what the “*” stands for since there’s no footnote in the blog post, so don’t get too excited just yet. You might have to call your lawyer first and check with them first.
So what does it actually add to the game? Well, for starters, two new heroes – Finn and Captain Plasma. There’s literally no info whatsoever about how they behave on the battlefield. The former “charges into battle and deals precise damage blazingly fast to any enemies who dare stand in the way”, while the latter “uses every tool at her disposal to ensure victory”. Thanks, EA.
There’s also a new campaign – three chapters about Iden Versio searching for answers while a conspiracy unfolds around her. More importantly, there are new maps. Crait is a Galactic Assault map set on a mineral planet, where the First Order tries to transport some prisoners on an AT-M6, while their comrades try to free them on ski-speeders. D’Qar is a Starfighter Assault map on which a group of Resistance fighters defends their headquarters from a First Order attack.
For good measure, there’s also a new ship for use in the space battles – it’s Tallie Lintra’s RZ-2 A-Wing. You know, the one from the thing. Poe Dameron’s T-70 X-Wing has a new upgrade, although there’s no mention of what it actually entails. Of course, there are also a bunch of tweaks and bug fixes – you can read all about them on the official forum.
