Steam Autumn Sale 2017 Starts, Coincides With Black Friday
The torrent of cheap games is in full force, with Steam joining the Black Friday shopping madness alongside GOG and various retailers. It’ll end on November 28th, at 10 AM Pacific, which means you’ve got five days to peruse the offer and grab whatever you desire. Since Steam is physically unable to have a normal sale without gimmicks, the Steam Awards are back again, letting you nominate your favorite games so you can get that sweet, sweet profile XP.
Since Steam profile XP seems to be the most important thing in the world these days, lets get the awards out of the way first. You have until the end of the sale to nominate games in thirteen categories (with names like The World Is Grim Enough Let’s Just All Get Along). Nominating at least one game will get you a new badge, and doing additional tasks will upgrade it, showering you with XP in the process.
As for the games themselves, there’s a whole bunch of nifty discounts. Most games developed and/or published by Bethesda are 50% off, which includes Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, Prey, both Dishonored 2 and Death of The Outsider, various Elder Scrolls’, The Evil Within 2, etc.
You can grab Nier Automata for about $35, which is 40% off. The Witcher 3 with both its hefty expansions is being sold for a mere $20, 60% off the usual price. If you’ve missed Fallout 4, now is a great opportunity to grab it – the base version is $15, while the one with all of its underwhelming DLCs is $30.
If triple A blockbusters aren’t your thing, you’ll have to dig a bit deeper, but you’ll find gems like Hollow Knight ($10), Hob ($15), Endless Space 2 ($20), Stellaris ($16), This War of Mine ($4), Banished ($6), Inside ($10), The Witness ($15) and many, many more. If you can’t make up your mind, don’t worry – Christmas is around the corner, and another sale to go along with it.
