Open-World Wonders Await in Ghost of Tsushima
For the past several years, the video games industry has been enriched with more and more cool games, but it has to be said that a majority of publishers are relying on the never-ending sequel machine. The lads and ladies over at Sucker Punch are thankfully taking a different road. After creating numerous games such as Infamous, Infamous 2, Infamous Second Son and Infamous First Light, the development studio is now focusing on a brand new IP, and they are calling it Ghost of Tsushima. Most professional development studios are not lucky enough to be given a chance to try out an all-new franchise, but once you check out what this game is about, you’ll see why Sony has decided to put some money behind it.
Ghost of Tsushima is an action, stealth adventure game that takes in feudal Japan, and follows the tale of a Samurai warrior (you). The game is actually set during the time when the Mongol army invaded the island of Tsushima, and your duty is to defend it. Okay, so gameplay wise, Ghost of Tsushima isn’t just about action and stealth, but also about exploration. Sucker Punch made it clear that if players desire to go to a certain location, they see in the distance, they are more than welcome to do so. They are putting huge emphasis on a kind of Skyrim-style free-roam gameplay, and there’s no doubt players will appreciate that.
According to the devs, the landscape in Ghost of Tsushima is huge and players will have the freedom to go anywhere they like, and do whatever they like, as they discover the many secrets of Medieval Japan.
Sucker Punch has been devoted to this project for over three and a half years, and they are finally getting ready to talk about it. This is the very first glimpse we’ve been given, and you can be sure they’ll release more info in the coming months, so stay put.
