Assassin's Creed Origins Preloads Available, Day One Update Size

Preloads of Assassin’s Creed Origins are either going up or have already gone up, depending on your platform and location. If you want to play the game as soon as possible, make sure to download the preload. You’ll have to download the Day One Update for AC Origins, too. Luckily, the file sizes aren’t that huge.

Assassin’s Creed fever is reaching its peak; fans can’t wait to sink their teeth into the new installment. Luckily, if you wanna cut the time needed to start playing, you can preload Assassin’s Creed Origins. The preloads are currently available across all platforms, according to the official Assassin’s Creed website. You can preload the game on Xbox One, while preloads on PC went live on October 24th at 4 PM UTC on both Steam and Uplay. The times vary more on the PlayStation 4 depending on your location. Here they are: October 25th at 4 AM UTC in the Americas, October 25th at 5 PM in Japan, and October 25th at midnight local in Europe.

As for when Assassin’s Creed Origins will unlock, that will depend on which platform you’re using. On Xbox One and PC Uplay, the game should unlock on October 27th at midnight local. On Steam, you’ll be able to play starting October 27th, 4 AM UTC. As for PS 4, things are again a bit more complicated. In the Americas, the unlock date and time is October 27th, 4 AM UTC, October 27th at 5 PM UTC in Japan, and October 27th at midnight local in Europe.

AC Origins will also require you to download a Day One Update (version 1.02). The file size should be 1.4 GB on Xbox, 1.3 GB on PlayStation, and 1.2 GB on PC. According to the post, the Day One Update focuses on fine-tuning the balancing of the game, improving stability and performance, and reworking Photo Mode controls. If you’ve bought the digital version, the update will download and installed automatically. Those that have bought a physical copy for either Xbox or PlayStation will have to manually check if the game is updated. If not, be sure to update your game to version 1.02. Finally, if you have a physical copy for the PC, the update should download and install with the games executable.
